About the company

At IntellAIf, we are developing an AI-driven solution that evaluates and improves lab-based and animal-based preclinical models for optimal human biology relevance. Our technology de-risks drug development by improving the translational accuracy of preclinical research. Delivered as a cloud-based SaaS platform, our solution provides access to proprietary AI enabled insights into preclinical models. Our platform provides objective preclinical model translatability scoring, selection and improvement strategies. By integrating large language models (LLMs), the platform serves as a powerful research companion—helping users extract deeper insights from preclinical data and enabling more informed go/no-go decisions on lead candidates.

The project

Location: Stockholm

Time period (Flexible start time, 1 month full time / or 1 month equivalent part time,…)

Guided by Chief Technical Officer:

Objectives
The intern will be responsible for curating and organizing transcriptomic, proteomic, and other -omics datasets from public and proprietary sources. These datasets will be integrated with relevant metadata such as species, tissue type, disease model, and experimental conditions.

The intern will also help design scalable database structures, implement data processing pipelines, and ensure the data is formatted for AI/ML model training. Collaboration with our AI team will be essential to align database outputs with model input requirements.

Intended Outcome

A harmonized, queryable database of multiomic preclinical data. Automated pipelines for data ingestion, QC, and updates. Documentation covering data sources, schemas, and processing methods. Analysis of patterns in model translatability and data coverage. Contribution to datasets used in training AI models.

Desired Skills
We’re looking for someone experienced in handling high-throughput omics data (e.g., RNA-seq, proteomics) and familiar with public databases like GEO, TCGA, and PRIDE. Python or R are essential, experience with SQL or graph databases as a bonus. Knowledge of data normalization, ontology mapping (e.g., GO, UMLS), and data integration best practices is preferred. A passion for translational medicine and AI is highly encouraged.

Learning Opportunities
This internship offers the chance to work on high-impact projects at the intersection of bioinformatics, AI, and drug development. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams (business development) and gain hands-on experience with real-world preclinical data and cutting-edge technologies.
