About the company

Alma.Me is dedicated to assisting PhDs, PostDocs, and mid-career researchers in transitioning from academia to industry roles. We offer personalized job search programs, one-on-one coaching, and a suite of digital resources to empower our clients in securing higher-paying industry positions efficiently. We also offer digital programs for universities to help their students and faculty attain non-academic careers. Our mission is to bridge the gap between academic expertise and industry demands, facilitating successful career transitions. 

 

The project

In this role, you will work closely with the CEO, Elena Hoffer, who is based in Stockholm. We are located in Forskaren (The Park).

We offer flexibility in when the internship is performed. For example, our current interns have spread their work over a period of four months, working about 10 hours per week. This model has worked really well for the project

We are seeking a proactive PhD student who wants to gain Business Development. The primary responsibility of this role is to research and identify universities that align with our partnership criteria. Reporting to the CEO, this position offers an excellent opportunity for students with an entrepreneurial spirit to gain experience in business development within a startup company. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead Generation: Identify and evaluate potential university partners that fit Alma.Me's collaboration criteria.
  • Market Research: Analyze academic institutions to understand their programs, strengths, and potential synergies with Alma.Me's services.
  • Data Management: Maintain an organized database of potential leads, including contact information and relevant details.
  • Outreach Support: Assist in developing outreach strategies and materials to engage identified universities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO and COO team to align lead generation efforts with overall partnership goals.

 

The candidate

Qualifications: 

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct thorough research and analyze data to inform decision-making.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and outreach.
  • Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple leads and tasks efficiently.
  • Initiative: Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and solving problems.
