About the company
Flemingsberg Science is a regional development company working to strengthen innovation, research, and enterprise in Flemingsberg – a growing life science cluster just south of Stockholm. We coordinate the project Klustermotor Life Science Flemingsberg, which brings together academia, the public sector, and industry to increase collaboration, visibility, and infrastructure access in the region. Our mission is to enable more research-based innovation, company establishment, and sustainable partnerships.

The project
As part of the work package “Matching SMEs with research infrastructure”, this internship project focuses on exploring how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can gain better access to advanced research infrastructure located in Flemingsberg (e.g. at Karolinska Institutet, Karolinska University Hospital and KTH). The intern will:

Identify and map existing core facilities and research infrastructures relevant to the life science sector; Interview key stakeholders such as researchers, infrastructure coordinators, and innovation office contacts; Summarise the findings in a short internal report and create a presentation material for use in matchmaking activities.

Expected outcome:
A concise internal report + slide deck that supports future matchmaking events, company dialogues, and promotional material for the project.

Location:
Flemingsberg Science, Hälsovägen 7, Huddinge

Time period:
October 2025. Full-time is preferred, but part-time can be considered.

The candidate
We are looking for a motivated PhD student with a background in life science, biomedicine, biotechnology, medical engineering, or a related field. Understanding of core facilities, translational research, or innovation systems is a strong plus. The right candidate is independent, communicative, and curious about how research infrastructures can create value for industry and society.
