About Countagen

Join a pioneering biotech startup at the forefront of gene editing analysis technology. We are seeking a motivated postdoc to further validate and develop our breakthrough PCR-free platform that's set to transform how the field assesses cell & gene therapy safety.

 

The Project

You will be instrumental in further advancing our NGS-based technology to a market-ready solution, working directly with our founding team to establish this technology as the new standard for comprehensive gene editing characterization. This role offers unique exposure to both cutting-edge science and commercial biotech development.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute benchmarking studies comparing our technology to other sequencing-based methods
  • Validate NGS library prep assay protocols for gene editing modalities with user cases
  • Analyze NGS datasets and support development of quality control metrics
  • Collaborate on project documentation and customer case studies
  • Support early access program with academic, pharmaceutical and biotech partners

 

The Candidate

  • PhD in molecular biology, genomics, or computational biology
  • Track record of method development and optimization
  • Interest in translating research into commercial applications
  • Proficiency in NGS data analysis (e.g., Python, bioinformatics pipelines)
  • Hands-on experience with gene editing technologies and gene editing workflows
  • Experience in on- and off-target analysis (e.g., CRISPResso, rhAmpSeq, GUIDE-seq) - desired
