The Global Epidemiology team’s mission is to advance patient health by enabling informed decision-making through generating reliable real-world evidence (RWE) on the safety and benefits of J&J products. 

 

The project 

The scope of the project is to provide epidemiological support to a pilot review of an ongoing disease registry. 

Primary responsibilities are to:

  • Evaluate data quality and recommend improvements to data collection
  • Review analysis outputs produced by an internal programming team and suggest revisions to the programming team and statistical analysis plan if necessary
  • Interpret and contextualize analysis outputs.

 

Deliverables of the project will be (1) a set of revised analysis outputs from the pilot review and (2) presentation to the study team.

The intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working collaboratively with colleagues from various departments at J&J, including data management, biostatistics, medical affairs, and operations, as part of a dynamic cross-functional team, with guidance and support from a senior epidemiologist. The intern will also have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced epidemiologists within the department and actively engage in department events such as educational webinars, team meetings, and networking opportunities, fostering valuable professional growth and connections.

  

Location: J&J Stockholm Office (Kolonnvägen 45, 170 67 Solna); possibility for partial remote work.

Time period:  expected start – Q1 2026 on a full-time basis.

    

The candidate 

  • Holder of PhD in epidemiology, public health, or a related field.
  • Good experience in primary data collection studies.
  • Has a good understanding of epidemiology study designs and analytical methods.
  • Strong interest in pharmaceutical research.
  • Has good communication, collaboration, and networking skills.
  • Has good presentation skills; fluent oral and written English.
  • Experience in rare diseases preferred.
