SANOFI

About the organization

Sanofi is focusing on research to develop new treatment opportunities within several diseases, comprising rare diseases, neurology incl. multiple sclerosis, oncology, vaccines, immunology and diabetes. We help patients with debilitating and complex conditions, which are often difficult to diagnose and treat. We currently provide > 20 treatments globally, with many potential new therapies being studied in clinical trials and early research.

This new internship opportunity has become available within Sanofi Sweden, Neurology.

Project

Effective liver monitoring is essential for patient safety when implementing new neurological treatments in clinical care. The establishment of stringent monitoring protocols across Swedish neurology clinics can enhance patient safety while reducing resource burden for healthcare providers. Standardized approaches to liver value monitoring represent a critical component in optimizing treatment outcomes and ensuring sustainable healthcare delivery.

This project aims to map current liver monitoring practices across Swedish neurology clinics and identify opportunities for standardization. The candidate will quantitatively and qualitatively provide an analysis of current practices at clinics and readiness to integrate a new liver monitoring procedure in routine care for a new emerging treatment. Patient safety considerations and gaps to fulfill proper monitoring will be assessed. Based on this, the candidate will then propose how evidence-based protocols can be developed to support patient safety and clinical decision-making across different Swedish healthcare settings and how a tool, such as a smart checklist and patient support programs, can meet clinical needs and tighten detected gaps.

The candidate is expected to provide a written report and an oral presentation to Sanofi Sweden.
