S-NGLE TECHNOLOGIES

Internship Project #1 - Biochemical Optimization

Target group

The project is available for postdocs and researchers (up to 3 months)

About the company

Single Technologies is a Stockholm-based deep tech company aiming to transform the data generation in sequencing completely through our patented 3-D Sequencing™, a truly disruptive technology.

Single Technologies was founded in 2014 as a unique combination of research from the Royal Institute of Technology and R&D in the fiber optical grating industry. A strong multidisciplinary team is pushing the limits of what the industry assumes is possible when it comes to sequencing and Big Data generation.

The project

This project focuses on improving sequencing performance by exploring new biochemical and molecular approaches to enhance data throughput and quality. The intern will implement experimental strategies on the sequencing platform, monitor their effects in real-time, and iteratively refine approaches to improve sequencing throughput, read quality and robustness. The goal is to identify approaches that lead to measurable improvements, bridging mechanistic understanding with robust on-platform performance gains. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across molecular biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, and engineering in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

The internship will be performed full-time at Single Technologies’ premise at Sankt Eriksgatan 48F, Stockholm. The selected candidate is expected to start as early as possible.

The candidate

  • Strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, enzymology, chemical biology, or biophysics.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience in reaction optimization, assay development, and quantitative experimental design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex experimental systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, and comfort working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with spatial biology (e.g. in situ sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, CLARITY, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with fluorescence imaging and/or computational analysis is a plus.
  • Experience with cell culture and tissue sample preparation is a plus
