Postdoctoral Internship @ VoxlBio – Image Analysis for Spatial Transcriptomics

Target group

Postdocs and researchers (3-month project)

About VoxlBio

VoxlBio is building a next-generation spatial biology platform focused on high-throughput,
sensitive in situ transcriptomic marker detection. Our mission is to enable scalable validation
of novel spatial biomarkers, bridging the gap between discovery and translational or clinical
studies. We work closely with leading academic labs, core facilities, and industry partners to
develop and validate our technology in real world settings.

At VoxlBio, we enable robust biomarker validation to accelerate the path of precision
medicine to patients.

We are currently incubated in the KI Innovations DRIVE program in Stockholm.

The Project

The project will support the development and validation of VoxlBio’s image analysis pipeline for
the platform. As part of the platform build and launch, we are developing an advanced analysis
workflow to quantitatively interpret multiplexed fluorescence microscopy data.
You will work closely with the RnD team across image analysis and wet lab development to
translate microscopy readouts into reliable, quantitative results, and to analyze external user
datasets generated across different instruments and experimental conditions.

Key activities include:

● Development, integration, and refinement of image analysis methods for fluorescence
microscopy, such as spot detection, deconvolution, deblending, signal modeling, and
decoding of multiplexed datasets

● Contributing to iterative feedback loops between the wet-lab development and the
computational analysis, optimizing all steps from reagent design to data analysis

● Quantitative analysis of assay development data and customer datasets, covering
varying instrumentation and experimental conditions

● Evaluation and improvement of statistical models for signal-to-noise separation,
classification confidence, and quality metrics

● Systematic assessment of robustness, assumptions, and limitations of analysis methods
in real-world settings

● Contribution to internal documentation and best-practice guidelines supporting robust
and responsible data analysis

Through this work, the intern will gain hands-on experience with industry-grade R&D workflows,
applied problem-solving under real constraints, and interdisciplinary collaboration at the
interface of computational analysis and experimental biology.
