Quantitative Profiling of Protein Interactions Using Naveni™ Technology

Company Introduction

Navinci Diagnostics AB is an innovative biotechnology company headquartered in Uppsala, Sweden. The company specializes in advanced in situ proteomics and develops proprietary technologies that enable high‑resolution detection and quantification of proteins, protein interactions, and post‑translational modifications directly within cells and tissues. Built on the Naveni® in situ proximity ligation technology, Navinci’s solutions provide exceptional sensitivity and specificity for visualizing molecular events in spatial context.

Target Audience

KI Postdoctoral and early career researchers for a 3-month internship.

Project Overview

This internship offers hands‑on experience with high‑multiplex spatial proteomics datasets
generated using Navinci’s misPLA technology. These datasets enable quantitative exploration of
protein interactions, signaling states, and molecular networks within intact tissue environments.
The project focuses on image and data analysis, with opportunities to contribute to pipeline
development, downstream analysis, AI‑assisted workflows, and biological interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine existing spatial proteomics data analysis pipelines.
• Perform downstream analyses to uncover biologically meaningful patterns.
• Explore and test analytical strategies to extract maximal value from misPLA datasets.
• Apply bioinformatics and AI‑assisted methods to improve workflow automation.
• Support interpretation of protein interaction signatures across tissue types.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

Essential Skills:
• Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
• Interests in image analysis, spatial biology, or quantitative microscopy.
• Basic understanding of molecular and cellular biology.
• Ability to work with high‑dimensional datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Meriting Skills:
• Knowledge of machine learning or AI‑based analytical methods.
• Experience with spatial omics or proteomics.
• Familiarity with image processing tools such as scikit‑image, Napari, or Fiji.
• Background in oncology, immunology, or single‑cell biology.

What You Will Gain

The intern will gain practical experience in spatial proteomics, quantitative image analysis,
AI‑assisted workflows, and biological interpretation of high‑dimensional datasets. This role
provides exposure to cutting‑edge technologies in oncology, immunology, and translational
research within a dynamic biotech environment.
