The project
The scope of the project is to lead a systematic literature review on algorithms implemented in routinely collected healthcare databases (i.e., real world data) for preterm birth. This project is part of a larger collaboration to conduct similar reviews across a suite of adverse pregnancy outcomes, which is being conducted by a consortium formed through the Medications in Pregnancy and Lactation (MiPaL) Special Interest Group (SIG) of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE). This consortium includes investigators from across the pharmaceutical industry, academic institutions, and regulatory agencies.
The goal will be to review studies that have implemented algorithms for identifying preterm birth in real world data, with a focus on any validated algorithms. The algorithms will be synthesized, summarized, and compared.
The intern will lead the multidisciplinary work group in this effort which will include (1) designing the search strategy and (2) directing and participating in the screening, review, and data extraction process.
The intern will work with other epidemiologists both within the department and outside the organization who are part of the collaborative workgroup. The intern will also have an opportunity to participate in other department events (e.g., educational webinars, team meetings, networking, etc.).
Location: J&J Stockholm Office (Kolonnvägen 45, 170 67 Solna), with a possibility for partial remote work.
Time period: expected start – Q3 2025 on a full-time basis.
