JANSSEN

Internship for Postdocs & Researchers at Janssen Epidemiology, Rare Disease Epicenter

Time: Spring Term application period (three months)

About Janssen and the Rare Disease Epicenter

At the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, we are working to create a world without disease. Transforming lives by finding new and better ways to prevent, intercept, treat and cure disease inspires us. We bring together the best minds and pursue the most promising science. We are Janssen. We collaborate with the world for the health of everyone in it.

The Rare Disease Epicenter is set up to develop a generalizable data strategy and framework for various rare diseases to support Real-World Evidence (RWE) generation for safety, regulatory and payor filings, and medical publications. This requires both innovation and focus, whilst working across the Janssen internal RWE groups and the external environment.

The Project

For the rare disease of interest, conduct a comprehensive data source landscaping which includes identifying and exploring data assets (e.g., registry datasets, disease specific hospital databases, Electronic Health Record (EHR) and health insurance claims databases) for RWE generation in the given rare disease. The intern will extract key database features and variables of interest for the given rare disease and search for information on database accessibility. At the end, the intern will prepare a data landscaping report and build the central web-based repository.

Support the fit-for-purpose data source strategy for existing research questions based on the performed data source landscaping together with colleagues from e.g., Epidemiology, Safety, Medical Affairs working in the field of this rare disease.
