These projects are open to postdocs and early career researchers (PhD degree holders) with a fixed term employment at KI, or on a KI stipend, before and during the internship.

CHIESI

Target group: Postdocs and researchers (3 months)

At Biotech Research & Product Development (BRPBD), a unit of Chiesi Global Rare Diseases located in Solna, we focus on developing biologic products that help addressing the unique needs of patients with rare diseases. We believe that no patient should be left behind. Our drug development pipeline includes therapies for Alpha-mannosidosis and Fabry Disease among others. Our team functions at the Solna site include early development, pre-clinical development, and CMC.

We present an opportunity to join the team in Solna to work on an enzyme replacement therapy, in early development, for a rare congenital lysosomal storage disease. This is a lab-based internship and will involve gaining an understanding of the disease background and research to identify new drug candidates. You will contribute towards understanding drug efficacy, stability, and distribution in cell-based assays. Hands on experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques e.g., experience in culture-expansion as well as cell-based analytical assays is desirable. Experience in pre-clinical histology/immunohistochemistry and knowledge of the mouse brain is a plus.

Highly skilled and motivated researchers with collaborative skills are invited to learn about the pharmaceutical industry at a company with a global footprint and humble beginnings. More specific details of the project will be given to the candidate upon signature of a confidentiality agreement (CDA). You can learn more about us at:
