SEB

Introduction to SEB Equity Research

Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB) is a leading Nordic financial institution, founded in 1856. Among many other offerings, we offer corporate advisory and financing services, as well as brokerage services and independent research for investors focused on companies listed in the Nordics. Key to this is our local presence and ability to perform high quality, timely, and in-depth fundamental analysis.

SEB Corporate Finance is a market leader in advisory services for Nordic related Mergers & acquisitions as well as equity capital market transactions.

Our equity research department plays an important role in the Nordic biotech investment community, through our coverage of most of the larger biotech companies in the region as well as in marketing research to potential institutional investors on companies that are preparing to list themselves on Nordic stock exchanges. A thorough understanding of the science underlying their products and the medical landscape in which they operate is essential to correctly assess their commercial prospects as well as those of their competitors.

Our goal with the internship is to meaningfully contribute to in-depth research that can help investors understand the commercial potential of these companies’ therapies.

Potential therapeutic areas: oncology and radiotherapy, autoimmune diseases, neurodegenerative disease, haemophilia, rare diseases, gene therapy, organ transplantation, psychiatric disorders, cardiovascular disorders, metabolic disorders

Projects could include: clinical study landscape analysis for a given disease; therapy landscape; in-depth analysis of a specific product; market sizing for a given therapy, surveys of key opinion leaders to understand current treatment practice and opinions of existing and pipeline products

How to prepare your CV

Please highlight only those experiences and skills that you would help you to analyze therapies, clinical study design/results, drug and commercial development, market potential, and companies in general. Previous experience/education in industry or finance is also obviously something to highlight.  A demonstrable interest in the stock market / industry experience / valuation of companies is advantageous. In most cases, exhaustive lists of lab techniques are not helpful. Although prior experience in a disease area would likely be beneficial, the overall profile of the candidate is the principle selection criterion.
