Molecular Attraction

Target group: Postdocs and Early Career Researchers (PhD holders)

About the organisation

Molecular Attraction is a biotechnology company that develops sustainable solutions to the control of vector-borne diseases by modifying insects and pest’s behaviors. We develop and deliver effective and environmentally friendly products for better mosquito
control. Our formulations contain attractants, phagostimulants or natural mosquito pheromones.

The project

Consists of standardized and tested our chemical compounds and formulation as mosquitos feeding- killing traps and attractants, under laboratory conditions and in an open field area. We seek a well-qualified Postdoc with a background in biology/ biochemistry, with strong interest in vector borne diseases.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
● Assisting in the maintenance of the laboratory mosquito colony
● Assisting during mosquitos’ experiments in the laboratory and in open field areas.
● Analysis of mosquitoes samples by PCR
● Optimization of the chemicals compound (pheromone and phagostimulants)
● Perform formulation validations and stability
● Assisting in the general maintenance of the laboratory

Required:
Hands-on biochemistry/molecular biology or biology lab experience.
Ability to work with chemicals while following safe laboratory practices/protocols.
