Project Plan for Internship

Objective: The intern will gain hands-on experience in developing an R-Shiny application focused on health economics and real-world data (RWD).

Project Outline:

  • Week 1: Introduction to Viti Science’s core services and intensive training on R programming and the Shiny framework.
  • Week 2: Work with the team to define the project scope based on the client's requirements. Assist in data cleaning and preprocessing to prepare for integration into the R-Shiny application.
  • Week 3: Actively contribute to the development of the R-Shiny application, focusing on UI design and backend logic, and implement key health economic models.

Expected Outcomes: By the end of the 4-week internship, the intern will have developed a real-world R-Shiny application and gained in-depth knowledge of health economics and RWD.

Location
The intern shall work in a hybrid arrangement, both from home and at Forskaren.

Time period
The internship can be full-time or part-time, between May and November 2026.

Preferred background and skills

We are looking for a PhD student in a relevant quantitative field (e.g., health economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, medical informatics), ideally with an interest in applying real-world data and health economic methods in a consulting setting. The candidate should have working knowledge of R (Shiny is a merit), experience handling research/RWD datasets, and strong communication and collaboration skills.

We look forward to collaborating with the KI internship Program to find an intern who will benefit from and contribute to this unique opportunity at Viti Science.
