About Ung Cancer (Young Cancer)

Ung Cancer is a non-profit organization supporting teenagers and young adults between ages 16-30, who are either living with cancer or who are close family members, relatives or friends to someone with cancer. Our support consists of psychosocial and peer-to-peer support, rehabilitation activities focus on both mental and physical health as well as financial support. Ung Cancer is also engaged in advocacy and projects which strive to develop and improve care and support to teenagers and young adults living with, or living close to someone with cancer.

Measuring short and medium-term benefits health benefits of Ung Cancer programs

Ung Cancer offers a range of psychosocial support and rehabilitation activities to its members, digitally or face-to-face, as one-off activities and longer programs. While focus ranges from psychosocial support, mental health and physical activity, the overall aim is always to improve the young adult’s sense of community, physical and mental health and overall well-being and resilience.

Ung Cancer regularly evaluates its activities and in short, our membership appreciate the support we offer, and describe it as meaningful, helpful and enjoyable. However, Ung Cancer wants to be able to measure both short and mid-term effects in a more structured and robust manner. This will help us ensure our support is as effective as possible, but it is also an expectation of us, as a non-profit and civil society organization, which receives funds and donations to run its programmes.

Goal with the project is to develop:

● Methods and tools (such as a questionnaire or similar), which can measure health benefits of our programs in a robust manner, which are feasible to be used in our regular operations as a small organization with limited resources.
