This project is  open to phd students, postdocs and early career researchers (PhD degree holders) with a fixed term employment at KI, or on a KI stipend, before and during the internship.

EPIGENICA AB

The Company:

Epigenica AB is a spin-off from Dr. Simon Elsässer’s research lab at Karolinska
Institutet. At Epigenica, we are developing a platform to accelerate epigenetic profiling in
biomedical research, drug development and diagnostics. Our technology offers a highly
multiplexed and quantitative assay to profile a comprehensive set of epigenetic marks across
samples, and we are commercializing a range of kits and services spanning basic research and
clinical applications.

The Project :

Through the KI Internship Program, we are happy to offer the possibility for a qualified and
highly motivated candidate to engage in the analysis of the high throughput data generated by
building pipelines as well as platforms for data visualization.

The intern will be working in a small startup environment and hence have the opportunity to
contribute to a wide range of additional project-related tasks, e.g. involving customer contacts,
market research, product design, lab management, quality assurance.

Candidate Profile: For the task defined above we seek scientists with strong expertise in
analyzing and integrating genomics or epigenomics data. Experience in molecular biology, or in
epigenomics techniques (specifically ChIP-seq experiments or analysis) is advantageous but
not mandatory. Importantly the candidate should be a team player and share our enthusiasm for
method development.

Supervisor: The intern will be supervised by Dr. Banushree Kumar, CTO, but will also have
contact with Dr. Simon Elsässer, CSO, and the whole Epigenica team.

Location: A Working Lab, Innomedicum, Nanna Svartz väg 4, 171 65 Solna
Weekly extent of work: Part time (50%) or more (up to 100%)
Possibility of prolongation beyond internship: Yes.
