AO Pharma

Target group:

PhD students (1 month)

About the company:

AO Pharma is a European-based pharmaceutical company focusing on the development and commercialization of innovative rare disease and specialty care products in areas of high unmet medical need. The company was founded in 2022 by life science professionals with deep sector experience as founders and leaders of unlisted and listed biotech companies and as VC investors.

The company’s first product is targeting a rare disease, and a central EMA filing for drug approval was submitted early in 2024. The company is actively seeking out opportunities to bring more rare disease and specialty care products to the market through M&A. The team is rapidly growing and currently consists of experience life science professionals with broad scientific, medical, regulatory, and commercial experience.

About the project:

The project will consist of working closely as part of the AO Pharma team on a variety of tasks, including e.g., focused scientific and commercial due diligence on potential M&A target drugs or companies.

The project will offer the successful candidate broad exposure to the commercial side of the life sciences and the opportunity to work closely with the team. In addition to the informal on the job learning, an opportunity to learn from dedicated learning slots on topics related to drug development and commercialisation will also be arranged.

The company’s office is in central Stockholm, where the internship will be based. The internship will ideally be run as a full-time internship. Exact timing is flexible but with a preference for spring or early summer.

The candidate:

We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student who is not afraid of new challenges or learning on the go. An existing interest in drug development and/or the biotech industry is a plus but by no means a requirement. Swedish is not a requirement.
