Target group

This is a 3-month project for postdoc or researcher candidates.

About the company

The Swedish Research Council is a government agency within the Ministry of Education and Research. We fund research and research infrastructure in all scientific disciplines. We are also advisors to the Government on research policy issues and work to increase understanding of the long-term societal benefits of research.

The project

The Swedish Research Council’s Office for clinical studies is looking for a candidate to involve in our operations in international intelligence analysis. The project will specifically focus on mapping and analyzing the terms and conditions for clinical research and clinical studies in a limited selection of focus countries. Primary focus countries for this project are Germany and the Netherlands, but also other countries such as Australia can be included. Alternative focus can be considered for candidates with pre-existing experience in clinical research from other comparable countries.

The candidate is expected to search and compile relevant information on planned, ongoing and/or terminated initiatives supported by public funds and/or other initiatives with the explicit aim to support or develop supporting infrastructure for clinical studies within the focus countries. This includes information concerning the organization of healthcare systems, research funding, regulatory bodies and other actors relevant for clinical studies. A large part of the project will be to analyze publicly available data and statistics concerning clinical studies/clinical trials conducted in the focus countries, and assess the use of indicators in publicly presented statistics. Finally, the candidate’s findings will be compiled in an intelligence report and presented to the head of the Office for clinical studies.

The candidate will be based in either Stockholm or Gothenburg. A part-time distance-based arrangement will be possible.

The candidate will ideally start in September 2024 and work on the project full-time for 3 months.

The candidate

The candidate will need to have considerable knowledge in the fundamentals of modern clinical research systems and preferably research experience of clinical studies or translational research. We are looking for a candidate with excellent writing skills and ability to search and analyze large quantities of information. Language: Swedish or English.
